ALUMNI PROGRAM NEWS
Our Principal Fiona Taylor was recently interviewed by Ourschool, the not-for-profit service that helps run our alumni program.
In the interview, she talks about the enjoyable and challenging aspects of her job, as well as reflecting on the alumni program’s progress and impact so far.

Meanwhile, we’re looking forward to visiting alumni Riccardo Gentiluomo’s photography studio with the Unit 1-2 Studio Arts students on Monday 23rd August.
Riccardo graduated in the Class of 1989 at one of our foundation schools, Bell Park High School. It promises to be a great day out – seeing how a professional sets up his studio, learning about his career journey and taking part in a portrait photography demo.

Olympic Games
I don’t know about you but I’ve been watching the Olympic Games since they started. Being a basketballer and softballer (in my heyday!) watching those games have been a priority but I’ve also enjoyed watching the swimming and now athletics. Normally I would never choose to watch Equestrian, Gymnastics, Tae Kwan Do, Table Tennis, Sailing, Badminton, Cycling or Shooting but because it’s the Olympics I’m watching all of these and getting excited when the Aussies get a medal. The thing I’ve taken out of watching these games though is that you don’t have to medal to be a winner and I’m referring to Patrick Tiernan, who was absolutely spent during the 10,000m run and with 200m to go he collapsed 3 times but he got himself up each time and practically walked to the finish line – that is a champion! BREAD TAGS FOR WHEELCHAIRS
The library is a collection point for “Bread Tags for Wheelchairs”.
Bread tags are recycled in Robe, SA to fund wheelchairs in South Africa. Jade Tuddenham is co-ordinating this fundraiser but we in the library are helping by advertising and collecting the bread tags.
