Live Love Learn

Dear Families,

As we come to the end of another term, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your efforts to foster the learning and wellbeing of our students.

We are all doing our very best to stay connected as a community but know that it can't replace seeing each other in person.

Today we had at least 150-200 students in attendance during our afternoon Assembly. It was wonderful to see so many students learning about Wellbeing. Our students are showing great enthusiasm for staying connected with each other.

If you haven't already done, you are encouraged to watch the Wellbeing videos sent home via classroom teachers yesterday...it is really worth watching. They showcase the incredible care and talents of our students.

We are very proud of the flexibility and hard work shown by our community to move to a revised remote learning plan. We know the routines and stamina required in this model will better prepare us for when the students return to onsite learning.

As a school, we have not been provided any information on when students will return to onsite learning other than the update projected for September 23. However, we are already preparing in case remote learning continues at the beginning of Term Four. As always, we will keep you updated with any changes.

The end of next week we see Miss Eimear Godfrey complete her work in Year 5C. She has shown a wonderful display of professionalism and care with the students. Eimear started at Galilee and has spent almost all of the time in remote learning. She has provided wonderful feedback on the students, staff and parents. We wish Eimear all the best in her return to Ireland and we soon welcome back Miss Coome with great excitement.

End of Term

After a mixture of onsite and online learning this term, Term 3 will end next Friday 17th September at 1.30pm. On Friday 17th September classroom teachers will run a 9am Google Meet for their students. Specialist Teachers will post activities and accompanying videos for students to complete on Friday 17th September. Specialist Teachers will be available to assist students and respond to emails on Friday 17th, up until 1.30pm.

Wellbeing Day

On Wednesday we celebrated Wellbeing Day. Students were invited to participate in a large variety of activities and view a wide range of videos that were created by our students. Mr. Martello collected students' work and put them all together on a slide show that we were able to access. On the slide show, students shared videos teaching us how to cook scrambled eggs, reading us stories, running sport sessions for us to participate in, singing songs and creating crafty things. We were able to take a break from our busy remote learning program to focus on our Wellbeing. We would like to thank all the students to submitted videos, activities and suggestions. We would also like to thank Mr. Martello for organising the day, putting together the slide show and giving us all the chance to focus on our wellbeing.

I had a wonderful day yesterday. I watched Pinocchio and my buddy Aiden's soccer tips. I learnt how to draw Hermione, I had story time then I went for a very long scooter ride with my mum down the beach and we had ice cream on the way home. By Dion - Prep

100 Days of Prep!

Today our Prep's celebrated 100 days of school (although the real date was earlier this term). They dressed up, completed activities all around the topic of 100, joined their buddies during a Google Meet and had lots of fun celebrating this wonderful milestone. Congratulations Prep - we are very proud of your achievements.
