Our shout out campaign celebrates individuals and their contribution to the Healesville High School Community. Eliza Hoiles was nominated by her peers and is the worthy recipient of the second shout out. Congratulations, Eliza!

Eliza epitomises all of our school values. She shows teamwork in so many ways. In particular, she works exceptionally well with her peers and staff within our renowned music department. She’s a member of the Legends Band, the Sax Ensemble and one of the music captains. As Liz Bennett reflected, ‘Eliza is an amazing role model and a wonderful help for Ms Morrison.’

Ms Shelley has been super impressed with Eliza’s dedicated approach to her Food Studies course. Eliza has demonstrated responsibility and independence as a learner, especially during the remote learning period. By the looks of some of the products Eliza has been creating, we think her family are probably pleased Eliza is so passionate and committed to this subject too! Yum.

According to Miss Jackson, Eliza always laughs at her jokes. This is clearly a brilliant example of a student showing respect; laughing at a teacher’s jokes, even if they aren’t funny. In addition to this, Eliza is kind and friendly to her peers. She’s always smiling and her happy disposition makes our school a better place.

COVID-19 has changed life for all of us. Being a Year 12 student is challenging at the best of times, but even more so when you are suddenly expected to learn and study from home. This hasn’t stopped Eliza and she has responded to this situation with resilience and determination. She’s continued to work hard, seek support from her teachers and maintain her positive attitude. Like so many Healesville High School students, Eliza has adapted and we are proud of her. Congratulations, Eliza! We appreciate your contributions, your encouragement of others and your smiling face.

‘Eliza is a kind and sweet person who will help you no matter what. She is an amazing saxophone player and always gives something a go. She always has a smile on her face.’ Taylah Chipperfiled

‘Eliza is always positive and keen to get involved. She never fails to laugh at my jokes. She is kind and talented and committed to achieving the best results possible. Eliza makes you feel as a teacher that your time and passion is valued.’ Miss Jackson

‘Eliza is always a positive addition to the atmosphere of any classroom environment she is in. She has a bubbly personality and the best humour! Her enthusiasm inspires me and her personal drive is empowering, she is one incredible person to surround yourself with.’ Mikayla Short

‘Sometimes you come across a student who even through the challenging time of COVID-19, epitomises a positive attitude towards school and life in general. Eliza is a proactive girl both in the community and the school. Eliza has taken her music captain responsibilities seriously and by developing a Kahoot quiz has enabled the music band students the opportunity to connect socially. I believe it was a great success. As we are aware social interaction between students has been difficult, so this was a great support for all involved. I am sure Eliza will continue her happy, positive attitude throughout her Year 12 and thank her for being an amazing role model for students and a wonderful support for Ms Morrison.’ Liz Bennett
