Year 10

Year 10 to Year 11 Transition 

To prepare for the transition into Year 11, your son will need to complete two Subject Planning and Pathway booklets, and an informal interview before the end of Term 2.

The Pathway booklet is a careers-based research activity. It provides structured research questions and quizzes to help him identify career pathways beyond Year 11 and 12. This can include VCE or industry-based training (VCAL). He has been provided with a digital pdf version in his Homeroom Teams Folder. This must be completed and submitted to SIMON by Friday 19 June.

• The Subject Planning booklet will assist him to identify particular subjects or pathways for Year 11 and 12. Upon completion of both booklets, he will need to book an interview with his Homeroom teacher. These interviews will take place in the last week of Term 2. This must be completed and submitted to SIMON by Friday 22 May.

• Informal interview. There will be small sessions of 3 students and his Homeroom teacher. They will be conducted using Microsoft Teams. The purpose of the interviews is to discuss his career pathway and subject choices for next year. Parents are not required to attend these informal interviews.

The interviews provide an opportunity for your son's Homeroom teacher to discuss his subject choices with him. It will be a chance for him to explain his choices and to ascertain if they are appropriate for his goals and abilities.
