School Council

Kii TPS Community

We hope Term Three has got off to a good start – and families are settling in well to our ‘new normal’ and are staying safe and well during this time.

School Council continues to meet online during lockdown 2.0. This month we are delighted to welcome Charles Williams as TPS Council’s Community Representative.

Here’s a quick snapshot of some of the things we’ve been working on and discussing this month:

  • The development of a Wominjeka to TPS brochure for all prospective and new parents.
  • Discussing school zoning issues impacting out of area families and identifying possible advocacy opportunities to address this.
  • Assessing impact of revenue reduction through fees, analysing fee structures and developing new communication and clarity of where fees go.
  • Grant applications are being submitted this month to improve our playground and toilet facilities.
  • As our usual fundraising and social activities are paused – devising new ideas and opportunities that can still take place in lockdown. Feel free to contact us with your innovative ideas.
  • Discussing the continuation of Team Kids as a holiday program at TPS.
  • Update on the development of the School’s Student Engagement and Wellbeing policy. School Council is in the process of reviewing the draft policy if you would like to have input in this discussion please contact us via the email address below.

We’re continuing to meet online during this time – and we welcome items from parents and carers.

Please speak to one of your Council members or submit your item to schoolcouncil@thornburyps.vic.edu.au
