Senior School - Year 10 to 12

Year 10 Careers Experience

Next week marks the beginning of the Careers Experience for our Year 10 students, which is an exciting time for all involved.

This year is particularly exciting, with the move to an online program delivered by The Careers Department. With the changes we have experienced in recent times, we're pleased to be able to offer this virtual careers experience to our students.

Please see a detailed explanation of what is involved in the below letter by DSC Careers Coordinator Vanessa Ramsay, who is the brains and driving force behind this initiative.

Year 10 Information Evening

Thank you to those who attended the online Parent Information Evening for our Year 10 students. We hope the session provided you with helpful insights into future pathways for your child at Doncaster Secondary College.

If you were unable to attend the event, you can view the recording below:

Please feel free to contact the Year 10 Coordinators or any other staff who spoke at the Information Evening if you have any questions.

It's fantastic to have students back and I hope your child has enjoyed their time at the College so far.

Free Dress Day

Monday 15 June was a charity free dress day at DSC, and students across the College looked cosy and comfy as they dressed in the theme "remote learning clothes"!

Our Year 12s posed for a fantastic group photo and enjoyed doing their part to contribute to the fundraiser.

A total of $1,323 was raised across the whole school, which is the largest amount raised for any of our charity casual dress days. Funds raised will support the Victorian Bushfire Appeal, Run to Red and The Cathy Freeman Foundation.

ATAR Results - Release Date

We are pleased to advise that 2020 Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) results will be released to students at 7.00am on Wednesday 30 December 2020

Those students who have applied for an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) will receive it on the same date.

This timing enables students to receive their results, access course and career counselling, and adjust their preferences, if required, prior to the first round of offers from Victorian tertiary institutions.

This is great news for senior secondary students, their families and teachers who have been supporting them through the challenges of 2020.

Thank you again for your efforts in support of our VCE and VCAL students during this challenging year.
