Sports Report

As we finish what has been a most strange and from a sporting point of view disappointing term, we look forward to the return of sport in some sort of normal capacity when we come back in Term 3.

At this point of time there is no confirmed news of return dates for our local sporting competitions in basketball, hockey and soccer. Our shooting season will commence in some format and some alternative competitions instead of the regular ones are hoping to be organised. Please check emails towards the end of the holidays and when we return to school to be up to date of any training and competition information. If you have any other questions, please ask the relevant head of that sport.

In relation to ICCES Sports, unfortunately all events have been cancelled for 2020. Remaining Glenelg Division events are still to be determined but there is hope that some of these including Senior Football for boys and girls will go ahead. House Sport Afternoons are still planned for the remainder of the year and various House sports (including cross country) will be run then and also during some lunchtimes in term 3 and 4.

Hockey

The Glenelg Association met on Monday night and we have set a tentative start date for the hockey season. There are still a few things to tick off but we are hoping to begin on the weekend of the 24th July. This will allow 7 rounds plus a Grand Final. The Association will be strictly adhering to the Covid Guidelines set down by Hockey Victoria. We hope to confirm our start prior to your return in Term 3.

In the hope that we are able to play this season, can we encourage all our hockey players to keep their fitness levels up over the holidays. All players should have now confirmed their availability to play next term.
