Connections

What a term! Who would have thought at the beginning of the year we would end up having nearly a whole term of remote learning and managing it so well? It is a huge credit to my amazing colleagues, our supportive families and our brilliant, resilient and patient students.

At the start of the remote period, our wellbeing team focused on keeping both our staff and students connected to each other. Regular check ins, remote mentor time and assemblies, along with phone calls and communication with parents ensured all our students and families knew they were being supported. Mr Monk, Lizzie, Ben and the Boarding Staff were innovative and creative in keeping our boarding families connected. Our SRC representatives met regularly to monitor their friends and class mates. I am very proud to be associated with such an incredible school community.

Congratulations to all students, in particular our senior students for such a positive and calm return to face to face learning. There has no doubt been challenges with many of the normal day to day routines no longer possible. As they did in remote learning, our students have simply got on with it!

I know our staff and students are now feeling the effects of such a tiring and stressful period. Can I encourage everyone to switch off, take a well earned rest and allow some time just for you.

Term 3 will no doubt bring with it new challenges and opportunities. From our past experiences this year, we now know we can adapt and work together to achieve almost anything.

Thank you, keep safe and enjoy a restful and peaceful holiday.
