From the Principal

Hasten slowly

At the conclusion of 2019, the College was pleased to announce that its Master Planning process was proceeding extremely well. Plans had been undertaken for extensive renovations of the Library and A Block and the creation of a new Administration Building. Given the events of 2020, the advice given to our architects has been to ‘hasten slowly’.

We are keen for our campus to continue to evolve but we are equally mindful of minimising disruption to our teaching and learning. Our planned movement of our Maintenance facility offsite will proceed this year and various planning approvals will be sought. We will also commence some car parking adjustments as congestion remains an ongoing consideration.

From next week, phase 3 of the COVID-19 WA roadmap allows for:

  • Indoor and outdoor gatherings of up to 100 people.
  • Contact sport and training is now permitted.
  • Playgrounds, gyms and sport centres can now open.

In addition, parents/caregivers are allowed onto school grounds to drop-off or pick up their children. To ensure the College adheres to COVID-19 guidelines, parents are welcome to bring their children to the classroom door or designated area but are required to remain outside the classroom.

Our staff are currently busy finalising assessments and preparing for end of semester student Reports. Further information will also be provided next week regarding Parent Student Teacher interviews and the Year 10 Parent Information night.

Following Pentecost Sunday, the Church has moved into ordinary time. It is brilliant that the College is now able to resume many of its ordinary activities.
