TERM 2 - WEEK 5
To the St Nicholas School Community
On Monday 25th May, St Nicholas School achieved a significant milestone in our
transition back to the new normal from the COVID-19 pandemic as we welcomed back all our students. Our families and students certainly responded, with St Nicholas School averaging 94% of our student population this week.
We are so very blessed at St Nicholas School as the positivity within the school community is shining daily. The huge smiles and sheer joy from our students around being back onsite, speaks volumes of the culture of our school. The environment supports quality relationships and learning, and it is an absolute joy to come to work everyday.
St Nicholas School also supports our families who preferred for their children to learn from home this week. However, the expectation from the NSW government is all students are back onsite by the start of next week. NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS STORY TIME
COVID-19 has certainly not hindered St Nicholas School commitment to bring happiness each and every day. This was particularly the case on Wednesday as Mrs Julie McGuirk led a fantastic National Simultaneous Story Time.
A big thanks to Julie for her efforts. Please enjoy the highlights video put together by Mr Chamberlain:
ROAD SAFETY
COVID-19 and the need for social distancing has increased the number of families dropping off and picking their children up by car. A timely reminder to please be patient, obey local traffic rules and respect our neighbours.
The significant increase of families accessing the car pickup area in the afternoon has led to long lines and lengthy delays. We are currently investigating with Tamworth Regional Council and the local police on options to reduce this bottleneck.
Have a wonderful week.
