Life in Lockdown

The clock ticks away as I stare at it

When will this end?

We’ve been in lockdown for months.

The virus has taken over

People give you stares when you walk down the street

Nothing to do

Nothing to see

Stuck here

Waiting for this to go away

I remember when life was normal

We could shake strangers’ hands

But now

That’s the worse crime of all

The numbers pile up

Deaths and cases

It seems there is no way it will stop

Can’t see friends

Everyone is Lonely

I believe one day this will end

The earth will evolve.

Happy will come out of this

But right now, it is our job to wait

One day

One day
