Year 7 History Weekly Challenges

This term Year 7 commenced their studies of History. History is all around us and students in 7 Jones and 7 Riley were asked to think about their own history. The first History Challenge that students undertook was to find four primary sources that relate to their life. These could be photos or artefacts, such as medals or trophies, or even footy boots! It was great fun to share these in class and see what each source tells us about that person. Here 7 Riley share some of their Primary Sources - can you guess what is important in their life?

Year 8 Frew Geography Class investigates the Earth's Structure

As part of our studies on Geomorphic processes and the Earth's structure 8 Frew used a boiled egg to model the Earth's structure. The cracked shell represented the tectonic plates and inside the egg the different layers could be identified, just as the Earth has different layers! It was a fun way to explore geographical concepts and students got to enjoy a healthy snack at the end of the lesson!
