Big Science Competition

On Thursday 21st May, 15 students completed the Big Science Competition. A few minor technical difficulties were no match for the problem solving skills of those involved. The competition is a 50 minute, multiple choice competition testing critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, not just factual recall. Questions are set in real-life, contemporary contexts, making them relatable and interesting. The competition occurs every year in May so if you think this is something that you or your Year 7-10 student would enjoy please keep an eye out for communication early in 2021.

The next competitions are the Australian Science Olympiads in Chemistry, Biology, Earth and Space Science and Physics. Registrations for these Senior Science Competitions close on 17th July, 2020. Please contact Mrs Hogan via email to register your interest. kymberleyhogan@girton.vic.edu.au
