A message from our School Leaders 2022
Hi everyone, we are your 2022 School Leaders. Our names are Emelie, Leo, Jake and Ivy. Last Term each class came together with Mrs Ferrari and the Year Six Leaders to talk about what is working well at St Mary's and what we could do to make the school even better. We shared our ideas and found out there are many things that we love about our school and there are many things people thought of that could make our school even better.
Using the information that we collected from that activity we made goals for Terms 3 and 4. Some of these goals were a Disco Day on Friday 12th August, a cooking class and St Mary's Got Talent, to be held in Term 4. On the upcoming Disco Day we will have the Prep, Year One and Two together for about half an hour then the Year Three, Four, Five and Sixes for half an hour! On the upcoming St Mary’s Got Talent we will have groups or people chosen from each class that will then move on to the next round in the hall when everyone will watch and there will be no winners because everyone's a winner and equally talented. We will share more information about this closer to the time.
As you all know, the assembly is run by Year Six every Friday. There are 2 Master of Ceremonies picked for each assembly. At the start of assembly two of us as School Leaders gather everyone's attention and settle the students in preparation to listen to the assembly items. The other two School Leaders hand out stickers to the best sitting and listening students. The assemblies are always run by Year sixes and are extremely fun and a really good experience since we will be moving into secondary school next year. and These assemblies set us up to be confident public speakers this year and as we move to secondary school. Watch this space for more information.
