Report Writing and Telling Time

This term we will be focusing on the Report Genre.

An information report provides readers with information on a chosen topic by providing them with facts. Generally, an information report is written to provide facts about a living or non-living object.

We started with an information report about ladybirds. Information was sorted under the sub-headings:

What am I?

How do I move?

What do I eat?

Where do I live?

Lifecycle

The children had to match the questions with the answers and then lay out their information so it fitted onto a large piece of coloured cardboard. They displayed it around a beautifully crafted ladybird.

We then continued this genre with a class report of a butterfly. We watched a few videos to gain the information to work out what we would include in our presentation.

We made vases with flowers to consolidate the letter Vv and words that begin with V.

In Maths, we are learning to tell the time to the hour in both analogue and digital time,

for example, 9 o’clock and 9:00.

Kind Regards
