Junior Sport

It has been great to see the comradery and hear the stories of persistence coming from our Saturday fixtures. To me, this is what sport is really about and not the final result. All too often in sport, we see results that don’t really give justice to the game that was played. I would encourage all our boys to stay focused on the task and not the results this season.

I remind parents/carers to view the Junior School Fixtures and Cancellations page on Stack Team App for the most up to date fixture information. We have had some significant changes from the draft draw that will affect this weekend in Basketball and next week in Tennis. Looking at the draft draw in the documents will only create confusion. Also, with the amount of rain forecast for this week and the weekend, being signed up to the app means you will receive notifications of any cancellations made of training this week and on Saturday morning.

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you the Age Champions from our recent Junior School House Swimming Carnival. Congratulations to the following boys for their efforts in the pool.

The Junior School Swimming Squad will be competing in the BPSSA Carnival this Friday at Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview and then again on Tuesday for the IPSHA Carnival. I know you will join me in wishing all our swimmers the best of luck in these events.

I would also like to acknowledge Levi Berbari and Lewis Massih for their selection into the CIS Basketball team. Special mention to Levi who represents CIS for the second year in a row. Congratulations boys and good luck in the upcoming tournament.

Trials are underway for Year 6 boys interested in participating in the Brisbane Football Tour and the Armidale Rugby Tour. We will battle through the inclement weather as much as possible. Boys are reminded to be at school prior to the 7:30 AM start time. We would like to maximise your time trialing in preparation for team selections, so please be ready. Boys can wear training gear to school in the morning and change into College uniform before the start of Period 1.

I look forward to Round 3 of the summer season this weekend and hopefully a bit of blue sky.
