JAPANESE

Hosting a Japanese Student

On July 31, fourteen Japanese students came to experience a week of school here at Kew High. They seemed to be having a great time, and the teacher of the students was an extremely funny guy. At school they did activities like footy, cooking and dancing. I hosted a girl called Akari. She was very good at English and was talkative. I took her to the city with the Japanese teacher on the weekends. I showed them around the MCG, Flinders Street station and Federation square. Akari said she had an amazing time in Australia and wants to come back next year.

The day before the Japanese students had to leave, the school organised a farewell party. There was a mix of Japanese food and Aussie food for dinner, all delicious. The Japanese teacher made a very emotional speech, and there were people crying. The Japanese students were great fun, and I can’t wait for them to come back.
