At the Junior School Presentation Evening, the Head Boy and Deputy Head Boy will be announced, and the 2021 Prefects will hand over the role of leadership to the new group of young men. Thank you also to the Year 5 Teachers who have taught and guided their students this term through this process. The speeches by all candidates were exceptional.

Agricultural Incursion

This morning Junior School students had a visit by Farmer Damien and his cow, Belinda. The boys had the opportunity to talk to and ask Farmer Damien questions about his chosen career, such as his daily activities and how he became interested in farming before having the opportunity to meet and milk Belinda. Thank you to Mrs Spencer for organising this incursion.

Golden Honour and TOBA Assembly

The final Golden Honour and TOBA Assembly for the year took place today. Congratulations to all the recipients of awards. The continued presence and connection between the Old Boys through TOBA has helped to build the strong “Men for Others’” culture that we have at Trinity.

Final Sporting Fixture

The final sporting fixture of the year will be held next week. It has been a successful year on the sporting field as the boys have shown improvement as the season has progressed. Thank you to all coaches, Mr Thompson for his organisation, parents for your support and the boys for the enthusiastic way they engage in the weekly sporting program.

Junior School Presentation Night

One of the TC events of the year is the Junior School Presentation Night on next Friday, 26 November. There is an expectation that all boys will attend this evening. Please use the online booking through the Trybooking link sent out last week. Please note also that the boys will finish school on the Friday at 12.45pm.

Year 5s make Befanini

This term in Italian, the Year 5s have been learning about the traditions associated with Christmas and New Year in Italy and how they differ to Australia. In particular they learnt about the importance of the Presepe (Nativity Scene) and also about the giver of gifts, la Befana. Traditionally, Italian children leave their stockings out on the 5th January in the hope that the good witch, Befana, will visit them and leave them small gifts and lollies for them to open on Epifania (Epiphany). Naughty children can expect to receive carbone (coal) and cipolle (onions).

Italians celebrate this festival with a cookie known as a Befanini. Signora Knapman brought in sugar cookies for the students to ice and paint. Firstly, the students had to roll the fondant and ice their cookie before painting their cookie with a Befana inspired design.

Prefects Corner

By Ivan Ly Jonah Clarke

Week 6, the term is flying by! The week started with all the Year 6s having their Year 7 2022 Orientation, what an exciting day they had. Tuesday was an important day with many Year 5 students speaking in hope of becoming a 2022 prefect. Thursday was then an exciting day for the Year 4s with their final carnival which was cricket. They now have the exciting opportunity of picking their sport for next year.

The week finished with a lovely mass from 4 Green and an ‘udderly’ amazing agriculture incursion where a WA farmer came and talked to us about his life as a farmer and in the afternoon we had a TOBA and a golden honour assembly.
