Year 10 Leadership Camp

On Monday, the Year 10 cohort along with Ms. McLoughlin, Mr. Lloyd and Mrs. Wilson departed for a three day leadership development camp at Maroochy Waterfront Camp facilitated by Character Builders. The purpose of the camp was to reflect on the strengths and characteristics of both the individual and the group and to encourage cohesion, team building and leadership skills. On the morning of day one, the girls had a go at Dragon Boating, a sport that requires cohesion and teamwork, and spent the afternoon on water challenges. Day two was certainly a highlight, after breakfast, the group boarded the bus for Maroochydore Beach and spent the morning participating in a range of different team-building activities. Day three brought with it constant rain which kept staff and students indoors for their Amazing Race Challenge. At the end of the camp the group spent time sharing and reflecting on the lessons learnt over the three days and how that might shape them as future leaders of Clayfield College. They also reflected on the new friendships and connections made with each other through the shared experiences on camp.

Christmas Carol Service

On Tuesday, students, parents, staff and members of the wider Clayfield Community came together to celebrate the spirit of the festive season at our Carol Service. It was wonderful to see so many families attend the evening. Our amazing music staff organised an evening filled with poignant music, hymns, and carols. Thank you to the P&F for organising a barbeque after the service.

We would like to thank all the families who brought along Christmas presents to be donated to children in care.  Your generosity during this time is greatly appreciated by all of these families.  UnitingCare Foster and Kinship Care will be providing presents to these families at their annual Christmas party on 6 December.

Reports

Academic Reports will be published in Parent Lounge by Friday 10 December. An email will be sent to all families once the reports are ready to view.

I wish you and your child a rested, peaceful, and happy holiday season.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
