Robotics

Creative Learning in the Robotics Room

Students have been busy creating and coding using the College's Lego robotics kits.

Year Five and Six students have been using Scratch based blocks to code Lego rovers to move and turn. They have added ultrasonic sensors to sense obstacles ahead, and have then coded the rovers to avoid the obstacles.

Students from Year Two, Three and Four have designed and built projects with motors enabling movement. Students have also experimented with motion sensors. They have coded sound, lights and movement to stop and start when a motion sensor is activated.

Prep and Year One students have been using the Osmo coding blocks to talk about direction and code movement of an animated character in the Coding Awbie game.

Prep to Year Three Coding Challenge

Junior students have the chance to show off their coding skills by creating a Scratch Junior game or animation based on Christmas or another celebration of their choice. Small prizes and certificates will be awarded to finalists. Students will need to air drop their work to Ms Fowler during their Robotics class.
