Library News
Thank you to all those students and families who have found their library books and returned them to the Library. There are still about 550 books out in studentsâ names and I am starting to send out emails to those who still have outstanding books. As you can imagine this will take awhile and will be done over the coming weeks.
Scholastic Bookclub
Today Scholastic brochures should be given out to students. Please note that the closing date for orders is Thursday 11th November. Books will be sent to the school and delivered to studentsâ classrooms. If your child does not receive a brochure there are limited supplies in the library.
PLEASE NOTE THATÂ NO CASH ORDERSÂ are to be sent to the school. IF YOU WANT TO ORDER FROM THE BROCHUREÂ ALL ORDERS MUST BE PLACED ONLINE.
The school receives commission from any purchases and this is used to purchase books for the Library.Â
Thank you for your support.

As usual, a reminder that if your child has any of the following symptoms:
- Fever
- Chills and sweats
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Shortness of breath
- Runny nose
- Loss or change in sense of smell or taste
Please keep them home.
November is the height of allergy season, in particular hay fever. This year is proving to be a bad season.
The following is from factsheet âManaging illness in schools and early childhoodâ which was released by DET and DHHS.Â
"Children with persistent symptoms due to underlying conditions such as hay fever or asthma, whose symptoms are clearly typical of their condition, can continue to attend ECEC/school. They should be tested for COVID-19 if they develop symptoms that are different to or worse than their usual symptoms. They should consider getting a medical certificate from their GP to attended ECEC/school if they have persistent symptoms that may overlap with symptoms of COVID-19 such as cough or runny nose."Â
Please let us know if your child has hay fever.

The University of Melbourne has a great app called Melbourne Pollen Count and Forecast. Â It is free and can be downloaded to your phone. It lists the pollen count for the day and also lists the risk of thunderstorm asthma. If the day is listed as high/extreme pollen count, please consider medicating your child with an anti-histamine prior to school, for their comfort and so there is no confusion about whether your child has COVID-19.Â
Middle School Narratives
Last term, a group of our Middle School writers participated in writing workshops that aimed to improve their storytelling ability. Over a number of weeks, Mrs Cassidy guided them through the writing process and they are very excited to share their finished pieces with you today.
