Messages from the Front Office

Phil Nelson

Some of you may remember Mr Phil Nelson from his many years of teaching here at MPS. In 2018 Mr Nelson retired and in 2019 was in Canada visiting his 2 sons who live there. Unfortunately whilst walking down some stairs he slipped and sustained a serious head injury.  He was admitted to the intensive care unit at a hospital in Calgary and  eventually came back to Australia, via Hong Kong,  in a special medi-vac aeroplane accompanied by a doctor and 2 nurses.  One of these nurses was his wife, Morag.  In Perth he was admitted to Fiona Stanley Hospital where his long road to recovery commenced.  As a community we contributed to a "Go Fund Me" page that had been sent up in his name to help cover his medical and emergency costs.

Yesterday we had a visit from Phil and are pleased to share with you that he is doing really well.  He is back behind the wheel and is looking great, complete with a Father Christmas length white beard.  He presented the school with a card with the words "Thanks a Million" on the front. The contents of the card can be found below:

2022 School Planning

To allow us to continue planning for 2022, if you know that your child will not be returning to Marangaroo PS in 2022, can you please notify the front office staff as soon as possible.

If you have a child old enough to start Kindy in 2022, (children born 1 July 2017 - 30 June 2018) please visit the front office as soon as possible to complete the application for enrolment process.

We also require an enrolment form to be completed for those students currently in Kindy and continuing into Pre Primary in 2022.  These forms were sent home with students at the end of term 2.  Have you handed yours in yet?  If not additional copies can be obtained from the front office.
