Phys Ed

Ringwood North District Swimming Carnival

On Monday 21st February, 11 students from Levels 4-6 represented Wonga Park Primary School at the Ringwood North District Swimming Carnival, held at Yarra Valley Grammar School. Our team consisted of Ellie, Mischa, William, Lily, Ava, Poppy, Thomas, Harvey, Makenzie, Charly, and Jemma. Each of them performed exceptionally well, representing themselves and the school with distinction. A number finished their races in the top 3, including a couple in first place. A special mention goes to our girls’ relay team of Jemma, Charly, Makenzie, and Lily, who raced together for the last time before three of them head off to high school next year. We would also like to thank our parent volunteers, Rachael and Brett, for helping to organise our students on the day. It was a very successful day all round!

Music

Senior Choir

What a fantastic sing-a-long we had last Friday morning with our first rehearsal! Over 30 students came and had a taste of singing together in the senior choir. If your child is in Grade 3-6 and would like to be part of this group, we will be meeting each Friday morning at 8am outside the BER. Please being along a plastic pocket folder to keep all lyrics sheet in and return your signed Senior Choir commitment page at the back of the provided handbook (extra copies will be available this Friday if needed).

Prep Self Portraits and Grade 1 Under The Sea Creations.

Maker Space

We have started our Term 1 challenges after spending the first few weeks setting up our expectations and safety requirements for MakerSpace.

Grade 1 and 2 students have the challenge of "This is a box..... but it isn't a box." They have to turn a small box into something completely new and interesting.

Grades 3 to 6 are making puppets that can deliver a smile. Students can make any type of puppet that they can confidently complete within the challenge time frame.

Currently students are completing the design stage of the process. So after defining the challenge by asking questions and finding the answers, students have dived into getting their ideas down onto paper and are itching to get to the building portion of the challenge.
