We Made It!

We did so with grace, with humour, with stamina and with courage. I am proud to have taught in a year that was both challenging and rewarding. While no one would say it was easy, it taught us all to be flexible, patient, resilient and independent while supporting and encouraging one another; to push through and get the job done. It was an honour to work with staff who were flexible and creative, who would discuss and turn around new, inspired units at the drop of a hat. It was exciting to see students submit work at a steady pace, eager for feedback and responding to comments and emails that seemed to never end. It was humbling to read or hear words of encouragement from families and students alike, knowing that what we were doing added value to our students' lives and, in many cases, was something to look forward to. It was emotional to have the students come back, to see their faces and engage in our classrooms once again, full of energy and learning, being able to see and participate together. The chatter of children, discussion, and connections in a complete community once more was such a relief.

We are so proud of our students, their work and effort. I round out the year with photos of students working, a quick Year 8 stenciling unit and the Year 9’s who produced amazing landscape paintings onsite. Beautiful pieces!

In case you missed the Online Art and Design exhibition results, here they are, one last time. A huge congratulations to all students who exhibited, particularly those mentioned below. These talented students received certificates, with ‘first place’ also receiving gift vouchers.

Wishing you all a joyous, relaxing, wonderful break; a Christmas with family and friends.

Stay safe.
