It has been wonderful to have all the students back at school this week.  Thank you to the staff, parents & children for all their work with student learning throughout the lockdown this term.  

 

Have A Restful And Safe Holiday.  Thank you for all of your support this term.  I hope you all enjoy a good break from school and from home learning this term. Enjoy the beautiful spring weather. I look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday 5th October. 

Term 4 - Returns Tuesday 5th October.

Term 4  commences on Tuesday 5 October.  Monday is a public holiday, school returns on the Tuesday.

ST PATRICK'S BOOK FAIR 

Thank you families for your support with the book fair. The Fair has made $750 of school points to purchase books for the Library from Scholastic.  

Our School Library is an important place for the children to visit to enjoy an amazing range of books.  Thank you to all of the staff who prepared the Book Fair, a big shout out to Mrs Harrison & Mrs Pittman for the Book Fair.

P & F Read-a-thon Congratulations 

Thank you families for supporting the read-a-thon.

Congratulations to all children who participated and collected sponsorship for reading. The children raised $669.50.

NAPLAN 2021

NAPLAN Success at St Patrick's Walcha!

 

Naplan results for Years 3 and 5 went home to parents with the students this week.

The envelope contains individual student report & a letter to parents.

 

2021 NAPLAN results show a high level of success for our students in both Years 3 and 5.

In NAPLAN Year 3 reading results, St Pat's have our highest ever NAPLAN mean score of 502.0, compared with the state average of 443.82. 

 

In 2021 the proportion of Year 3 students who have achieved the top two bands for reading has increased significantly with the exceptional result of 90% in this category!

Other highlights include:

In Year 3 

  • Reading, 100% of students above National Minimum Standard
  • Writing, 100% of students above National Minimum Standard
  • Numeracy, 100% of students above National Minimum Standard

In Year 5 

  • Reading, 83% of students above National Minimum Standard
  • Writing, 100% of students above National Minimum Standard
  • Numeracy, 83% of students above National Minimum Standard

Congratulations on these results, children, teachers & parents.  It is a testament to the work of the whole school professional learning community. I am very pleased with the journey we have made in improving learning and teaching outcomes that have contributed to this success in NAPLAN.

P & F Street Stall

P & F will be holding a second street stall fundraiser for the year on FRIDAY 15th OCTOBER from 8.30am - (approx.) 4.30pm.

Helpers are needed to assist with the stall

8.30-10.30am: Chloe Hoy + Trina Fletcher

10.30-12.30pm: Jess Healey + Helper Needed

12.30-2.30pm:  Two helpers Needed

2.30-4.30pm: Chloe Hoy + Helper Needed

- Provide baking to sell (Please make sure all food products are labelled with ingredients)

- Potted Succulents / Plants

If you are able to lend a small part of your day to help on the stall OR are willing to bake / pot succulents or plants it would be most appreciated. 

Thank you to Jess & Dave Healey for kindly offering to donate the wood for our raffle! All money raised goes back in to the school to assist and provide further opportunities for our children!

We will also be pre-selling tickets for the raffle, students will take home this information in the coming weeks.
