Boarding
Boarder profile: Hugo Dabernig
It is a warm welcome to our new boarders for Term Four. We have been blessed to welcome Year 8 student, Hugo Dabernig, to the Speirs House family. After two-weeks in the Boarding House, I thought it was a good time to sit down and hear about Hugo’s boarding journey so far.
Thoughts before arriving: I was a bit apprehensive at first, but I was looking forward to what was ahead and meeting new people.
Room-mate: Clyde Innes, who loves to mountain bike.
What have you learnt since being a boarder: Keep your room tidy because nobody wants to sleep with a messy room mate.
Coolest boarder: Justin Lee in Year 12.
Most interesting boarder: Clyde Innes.
Best meal so far: Parma and chips.
Biggest challenge: Adjusting to boarding life. Learning the regime of boarding and being able to switch off at times.
What are you looking forward to: Getting to know everybody more next year. Without lockdowns!
Best thing: Everybody introducing themselves and being accepting.
