From the Principal

Last week was without doubt one of the most uplifting and gratifying experiences of the past twelve months!  The Boarding House Dinner, Year 12 Assembly, the Myrniong Year 12 Service and Speech Day were all joyous occasions and I heartily commend everyone involved; most especially our Year 12 students who showed great maturity and respect for all events.

If you didn’t watch the live stream, please click on this link to watch the 149th Speech Day; it is a special event on the College calendar to recognise student success and farewell our Year 12 cohort.

Last Wednesday night, Macdonald Boarding House Captain, Annabel Hetherington, shared that her happy journey through College had revolved around hundreds of wonderful ‘micro-moments’.  As I reflect on the Class of 2021 and their group and individual accomplishments, I am reassured that there were many memorable opportunities to discover what’s possible and ‘what rocks’ they have prioritised in their lives!  I wish the graduating Class of 2021 every success as they commence on their VCE exams this week and remind them one last time; ‘the only time success comes before work is in the dictionary!’

I received many positive emails on our College celebrations last week and I was particularly appreciative of one family who commented: “we got the impression of a very loving, united school community with a strong emphasis on making the world a better place”.  We truly do seek the best for and from every student, and this comment assures me that we are accomplishing our mission!
