Student Internships in Democracy & Government - $500 Stipend

The IDF Internships

The Inclusive Democracy Foundation is pleased to announce we are offering 5 Virtual Internships for students aged 17 or 18 to commence after VCE exams in November 2021.

Why apply?

Government and the public sector overall represents 25% of the Australian economy and employs over 5 million people Australia-wide. Students who study in this area can pursue stimulating career paths working as analysts, communications coordinators, policy officers and a range of other roles in areas such as public health, environmental protection, sports & recreation, and foreign affairs.

Our Internship program is designed to give high school students a greater understanding of how our democratic system of government works. It offers valuable skills and experience for any student considering a career in this sector.

Benefits

  • Receive training on communications & stakeholder engagement skills from experienced leaders in the field.
  • Work on programs which allow you to apply the skills you’ve learned.
  • Each Intern receives a $500 stipend.
  • A noteworthy achievement to add to your CV.

Time commitment required

The 2021 IDF Internships will be run as virtual internships in order to accommodate COVID-19 restrictions. All training and program activities will be conducted online via Zoom and other communication tools.

Interns will be required to devote 5 hours per week to their internship over a 10 week period. There will be several compulsory scheduled training sessions and coordination meetings but in general, interns have a great deal of flexibility as to when they work their 5 hours per week.

The Internships are designed to accommodate students with other commitments in regard to study or work. If you have any questions at all regarding the time commitment required, please don’t hesitate to contact us via the website above.
