WELCOME BACK

Welcome back students, parents, guardians and staff to Term 4. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our entire school community for the resilience and adaptability you have shown during such a disruptive and challenging time.

Remote Learning throughout Term 3 and the commencement of this term has certainly come with its challenges. We thank all our students for the ongoing commitment you have shown to your learning and, most importantly, for maintaining positivity during this time. To our parents and guardians, thank you for your ongoing support and working together with us at Brookside to best assist all students. To our incredible staff, thank you once again for all your hard work during this time and for always having our students at the centre of everything you do. We are so fortunate to have such a positive school community.

On Monday 18th October, we were over the moon to welcome back our Prep students to onsite learning. Students and staff did a wonderful job settling back into school. We also look forward to welcoming back our Year 1 and 2 students on Thursday 21st October. We will welcome all students in other year levels in the staggered return. We cannot wait to see you all and reconnect.

Prep playground

During this remote learning period the Agora space has been transformed into a playground for our Prep students to utilise.  We are hoping this project is finalised soon so that our Preps can enjoy!

TONY’S PIE DRIVE

A massive THANK YOU to Brookside Parents and Friends Committee (PFC) Convenor Sarah Jarman and Karen Jackson for organising a profitable fundraiser this year. Thank you to all families who placed an order and for your patience in the time it has taken to distribute the pie orders due to restrictions. We hope you all enjoy your yummy pies!

HATS TERM 4

Just a reminder that in Term 4, all students in Prep – Year 6 are required to wear a broad-brimmed hat while outside. Hats are to be worn during all break times and outdoor activities. We also encourage students in Years 7-9 to wear a hat outdoors.

CURRICULUM DAY – Monday 1st November

Monday 1st November is a Curriculum Day. The Brookside College staff will be working on the completion of School Reports. The school will be closed on this day, however Out of School Hours care via Camp Australia will be available for families who need it.

FACE MASKS

Please remember that it is a requirement that face masks are worn onsite (unless an exemption applies). Students in Years 3-6 students are required to wear a mask while indoors and Year 7-9 students are to wear masks both indoors and outdoors. We ask that students bring a mask from home with them each day. Thank you for your understanding.

PARENTS PICKING UP AND DROPPING OFF STUDENTS

For the health and safety of everyone in our school community we ask that all parents and guardians who attend the College onsite please do the following; socially distance by maintaining 1.5m from another adult, wear a face mask; and leave the premises as quickly as possible after dropping off or collecting your child/ren.

BABY PUMA IS ON ITS WAY!

We wish Brooke Puma (Year 1 Leader and Teacher) and husband Anthony all the very best for the upcoming arrival of her baby. Brooke will be commencing her Maternity leave shortly to await the safe arrival of her bundle of joy. We hope you enjoy every moment of being a mum!

FAREWELL TO MATT WILLIAMS & WELCOME TO STEPHANIE CREA

This Term the Brookside Community has farewelled Matt Williams (Year 6 teacher). We thank Matt for the contributions he has made to our Community and wish him all the very best for his future endeavours.

We extend a warm welcome to Stephanie Crea who will be replacing Matt in Year 6 for the remainder of the year.

PREP INFORMATION EVENING

The 2022 Prep Information Evening was held last week and provided an opportunity for both current and new families to ask questions regarding the transition of their child into Prep at Brookside College. The evening was positively attended, and we would like to thank Karen Jackson, Manisha Saini and Linda Britton for presenting on the evening.

EVENTS & ACTIVITES IN TERM 4

We thank our school community for your patience and understanding with the restrictions of running events and activities at this point in time. As a College, we are continuing to plan for events to take place this term, however we must to be guided by the DET Operations Guide of what can and cannot take place. We will continue to keep our school community well informed.

Have a wonderful weekend!
