RU (Really) OK?

COVID-19 Restrictions may have brought a halt to many 2021 festivities, however 2021 RU, Really OK? Day, was not one of them!

Two of our esteemed prefects, Eliza O’Sullivan and Sanjana Jijo joined forces with Mr Richie Clark, our new School Counsellor from 65 Wattle to remind everyone to check in with the people around them.

Girton Community Action Group’s Astrid Johnston and Jenna Ackland also organised some competitions to encourage everyone to join in and be a part of the day:

Hello Mrs. Naughton,

Today I created a zoom session with my friends during lunchtime. Me and 6 other of my friends chatted together, relaxed, and played some pizzuno and gartic phone, while checking in on how everyone was doing. Especially since we were Year 11s and 12s, this session was great to escape the challenging atmosphere of VCE.

Are you doing alright today? :)

RUOK? at Junior School

While the Junior School class was talking about R U OK? day one of the students asked to go to the bathroom. Off they went and when they came back he told his teacher that on his way to the bathroom he asked his older brother if he was ok and his brother just grunted at him. One of his classmates said well maybe he isn’t ok and that’s why he grunted. So off he went to ask his brother again. He returned and said “I asked him if he was ok again and I really listened to his grunt and it sounded normal so I think he is ok.”
