Basketball News

Our winter season has again been interrupted by COVID lockdowns, with multiple games cancelled and a halted final series that should have been coming to an end this week. Unfortunately, the Bendigo Basketball Association has not yet determined whether we will play in Term 4 to allow some of the highest-ranked teams the opportunity to play off in a Grand Final or whether the season will be abandoned. However, whatever the decision is, we are grateful to have enjoyed games this season, and we look forward to the opportunity to play again in the summer season. In looking ahead to our summer basketball season, we would like to encourage any U10 girls from Year 2 and any U12 girls (born 2011 & 2012) who would like to give basketball a try to please speak to Mr Norris or Mrs Tunzi about signing up. 

We would like to thank all of you who participated in the winter basketball season, and we hope that you enjoyed every chance to train and play with your friends. I also want to say thank you to all the teachers and Girton Parents that have coached and/or managed this season, who have often adapted quickly to new protocols at the stadium and been flexible in returning to play immediately after lockdowns. We value your time and effort immensely and hope that you will return to support, inspire and guide our students in the summer season.
