What a wonderful week it has been!
I can’t express the joy that I feel to have our Year 9 and 10 students back on site and our classrooms full again!
Students were given a special program on their first day of return. This involved sessions with a range of staff which were projected into all classrooms. Students heard some key messages around resilience, wellbeing, relationship building and were lucky enough to do some activities supporting this including an important goal setting activity to reframe the rest of the academic year for our students.
My favourite activities were making our bracelets with positive messages. It was also a privilege to create a tile with a message of hope that will go with the other 1200 tiles each individually created by our school community for an installation in the future. This will serve as an acknowledgement of the experience we have had as a school community, but even more importantly, to express the positivity we feel about what is to come for our students during Term 4 and in the coming years.
As restrictions look to ease, it is exciting to finally be able to not only have students onsite, but to plan activities like excursions and the end of year program.
I am very proud of the transition that all of our students have made back to onsite learning.
