11 & 12

Ms. Laura Forster

Congratulations to our wonderful year 12 VCE students who sat their English exam this past Wednesday. From many accounts both students and their English teachers were happy with this year’s paper. Students, as you can imaging felt a huge sense of relief to be able to sit these exams considering the year we have had. One major exam down, several more to go. Hopefully students have confidence in their preparation and hard work to approach these next coming exams with positivity. On behalf of the college, I would like to wish each of them our very best wishes and best of luck for the coming exams.  We wish you great success. To all our year 12 students, your resilience and tenacity in adapting to changing situations will place you favorably in realising your future pathways.

Be sure to remain in touch with us here at LSC and keep us updated on all the wonderful opportunities that may come your way.

We will have a final formal opportunity to farewell and to indeed celebrate the achievements of our year 12 students at this year’s Graduation Ceremony to be held at Brookfield Receptions on December the 16th. We look forward to seeing our year 12 students there.

Year 11 students will have their last day of formal classes this Friday, with a period of preparation for their exams next week. Their exam period begins of Monday 8 th of November followed by their important Orientation program in readiness for year 12. Again, we take this opportunity to wish them well for their exams.  During their study session today, our year 11 students were given the opportunity to reflect on this past year, and commemorate their personal journey through the movement in and out lockdowns by completing a reconnection activity which culminated in the decoration of a ceramic tile.  Students were led though a reflection activity to provide an opportunity to share and unpack the very real toll these few months have had on their lives. Students were encouraged to select words of strength or create meaningful designs to describe their individual experiences These tiles will be permanent reminders to our college community of our resilience in times of the immense uncertainty that this pandemic has bought to us all.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank parents and careers for your ongoing support of the college throughout this unpredictable year. We certainly appreciate your partnering alongside us in this important educational journey for our students.
