First Communion for our current Year 4 students

As you know, due to Lockdown 6.0 we had to postpone the First Communion ceremonies for our Year 4 students.

This week, Father Kevin and I met again and planned some tentative dates when it may be possible to hold the ceremonies.

Some possible dates for the Year 4's to make their First Communion are as follows:

Saturday, 20th November at 3:30 & 5:30, Sunday, 21st November at 3:30pm and Saturday 27th November at 5:30pm.

The Year 4 students will receive a letter with further details when they return to school next Tuesday, 26th October and we will then ask you to select dates and times.

NB As with attendance at other indoor functions at the current time, we will need to consider the number of attendees at each ceremony and the vaccination status of family members.

Father Kevin regularly receives updates regarding protocols for religious services and we will need to follow these requirements.

Ages ago, we wrote that for our First Communion ceremonies to go ahead, we would need to have the restrictions eased to the point where we can have 100 people permitted in the church and we believe that this will be reached soon.

The plan is to have 3 or 4 ceremonies with approximately 10 families at each one and each family can have 7 people in attendance.

Hopefully we can finally go ahead with these ceremonies!

Kind regards,  Karen Whiting.
