Physical Education Learning:

 

Welcome back to Physical Education in Term 3!

This term students from Prep - 2 have begun focusing on their Fundamental Motor Skills Kicking and Punting. In grade 3-6, students have started to develop and refine their sports specific skills in AFL and Hockey. 

 

Term 3 Sports Dates: 

 

This term is packed with many sporting dates for our Grayling students. See below;

 

  • Friday the 21st of July: Division AFL - Both our boys and girls team were successful in winning district last term and will be competing in Division this Friday!
  • 28th of July, 4th of August, 11th August and 8th of September: Interschool sports - Our grade 5 & 6 students will be competing in 4 rounds of interschools sports this term. The first round will be at Casey Fields PS and the rest will be held at Grayling PS. Students will be competing in Basketball, European Handball, AFL, Tennis and Kickball.
  • 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th of August: Football (Soccer) Australia will be coming to our school to run a sports clinic for our Prep students once a week. 
  • 23rd of August: District Athletics - 41 Grade 3-6 students have been selected to represent our school and compete in the District Athletics at Casey Fields Athletics Track. Students will be training hard every Friday recess to achieve their best on the day!
  • 31st August: Staff V Students Volleyball match - The grade 6’s will take on the Staff of Grayling for the third time this year, will they get their first win of the year?
  • 6th of September: AFL 9’s Casey Tournament - Our school has been invited to enter 4 teams to compete in the AFL 9/s tournament. We will have a 5/6 Boys & Girls team as well as a 3/4 Boys & Girls team. 
  • 13th of September: Division Athletics - If any of our students who are competing in the District Athletics place first or second in their events students will qualify to compete in Division Athletics in their event.

 

Term 2 Summer Lightning Prem Results: 

In the last week of Term 2 students in Grade 5/6 competed against other schools in their district. The sports students competed in were Soccer, Cricket, Volleyball, Netball and Tee Ball. I would like to congratulate all students for giving their best effort and representing the school in a professional manner. I would like to give a special commendation to the Girls Volleyball Team who finished first and will be representing our school in Division in Term 4 as well as the Girls soccer team finishing second!
