2023 Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA)

M.U.N.A., a significant international Rotary youth program, simulates the workings of the U.N. assembly by having teams of students represent a particular U.N. country. Topics are debated on matters of world political and social concern. It is held over a week-end to give sufficient time for all participants to become involved. The main aim is to develop an awareness of the United Nations in students as well as international situations of other countries and to encourage students to study topics from another country’s perspective, to encourage international understanding, goodwill and peace and this parallels those of the United Nations.

Our school's team comprised Year 9 students Oliver McMahon, Eliza Huang and Nisha Rehn, and Year 10 student Ciara Reeves, and their successful representation of Cuba at MUNA showcased their excellent teamwork, clear communication and impressive performance.

It was a great opportunity for them to develop important skills in diplomacy, negation, critical thinking, and understanding global issues. The experience not only helped them grow personally, but also equipped them with valuable skills for future endeavours.
