Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,
Another incredibly busy term at Warrnambool Primary School is coming to an end. I would like to congratulate our students for working so hard on their tasks throughout the term. We have seen much growth, socially, academically and emotionally from our students. This growth has been reflected in their assessments in Literacy, Numeracy and the other subject areas. As you can see below the writing from our Year 4B class this week is amazing.
I would also like to thank the parent body for continuing your partnership with our school with the aim to ensure your children achieve the best outcomes. When children have strong attendance at school and receive support from home their results always improve.
Well done to our very hard-working and dedicated staff who always have the very best intentions for all of our students.
The students and staff have earned a break over the next fortnight. If you are lucky enough to get away for a period of time or you are at home with your families please enjoy the next two weeks and we’ll see you all again in July.
Please note ‘Their Care’ will be operating during the holiday break if parents wish to access the program.
EARLY DISMISSAL FRIDAY 23RD JUNE 2023
As is the custom, students will be dismissed earlier on the last day of term at 2.30pm.
CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY- PRIMARY PERFORMERS
‘The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory…but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka's army of curious Oompa-Loompas.’
We are so fortunate to have stars of our own performing in this Primary Performers production at the Lighthouse Theatre. Jack Bryant, Willow Jolly, Clancey Greene and Parmin Safari are taking on various roles in the production. It is fantastic to see our students performing on stage and we are proud of our talented and courageous performers.
Public performances are being held at the Lighthouse Theatre on Friday 23rd June 2023 at 6.30pm and Saturday 24th June 2023 at 2pm. The productions run for two hours and tickets are available via the link below:

NAIDOC WEEK- 2ND-9TH JULY 2023
NAIDOC Week occurs on the second week of the school holidays. The 2023 Theme is "For Our Elders"
‘Across every generation, our Elders have played, and continue to play, an important role and hold a prominent place in our communities and families. They are cultural knowledge holders, trailblazers, nurturers, advocates, teachers, survivors, leaders, hard workers and our loved ones.
Our loved ones who pick us up in our low moments and celebrate us in our high ones. Who cook us a feed to comfort us and pull us into line, when we need them to. They guide our generations and pave the way for us to take the paths we can take today. Guidance, not only through generations of advocacy and activism, but in everyday life and how to place ourselves in the world.’ We wish our first nations families in our Warrnambool Primary School Community all the very best during this week.

Students and staff will return to school on Monday 10th July 2023.
WORKING BEE SATURDAY 15TH JULY 2023 9am-12pm
The hard working Buildings and Grounds sub-committee will be holding a Working Bee on the first Saturday after we return from the mid-year break.
Please put this in your diary as we have quite a few small jobs to attend to. Many hands make light work and it would be great to see as many families there as possible.
