NAIDOC Cup
The 2023 National NAIDOC Week theme is For Our Elders. Across every generation, our Elders have played, and continue to play, an important role and hold a prominent place in our communities and families.
This year, our Liven Deadly students were invited by Jie Pittman, to attend the NAIDOC Cup held in Emu Plains. They participated in the Opening Ceremony with Jie and other members of the community. Some of our students helped referee Oztag and netball, whilst others helped with arts and crafts. The students also helped paint 2,000 primary school student faces.
Reconciliation Week Activities
The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2023, Be a Voice for Generations, encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives – where we live, work and socialise.
During Reconciliation Week, members of the Student Leadership Team organised boomerang throwing and spear throwing at lunchtime. Students from all year groups and abilities were invited to learn and participate in traditional Indigenous activities.
