Year 2 Art: Scrap Sculptures

Using wooden scraps, recycled cardboard and old toys, Year 2 students have been creating scrap sculptures. They worked on individual arrangements and placement of the materials, securing these with glue to ensure balance.

Inspired by the found object sculptures catered by American artist Louise Nevelson in the 1950s in New York, the children selected one colour to paint their sculpture in, making the objects uniform. What beautiful art they have made as well as helping to take care of the planet!
