Camping
Thanks to the wonderful initiative from the State Government to provide free camps for a wide range of communities that would benefit from extra support, our students at Northern Bay have been able to attend camps this year.
We have seen the pictures on Facebook but what did the students really think!
- I liked the archery and golf because they were both really fun and I liked aiming. I got better overtime by practising. It helped when I pulled harder because the arrow went further. By Tyson
- I liked the activities because they were really fun and we got to try new things. The stick hut building was fantastic. I got to make a hut out of stick. I think I did really good. The hut needed to be strong enough that the rain couldn’t get in and we had to be able to sit inside it. By Maddison
- I liked the bush walk because I learnt lots of new things about the bush. I saw different bushes that grew different sizes. I saw mushrooms growing on the ground, a kangaroo track and looked for animal scat. By Scott
- I liked the hut building because we could build different huts and different sizes. I was really fun because at the end we had to build walls with little bits of bark. At the end we got to crush them. By Hayden
- The bush walk was my favourite because I got to feel leaves and sticks. I was walking down the valley looking at the trees. We saw colourful mushrooms, like red and pink. On the way back to the camp we saw footprints of dogs and kangaroos. By Jett
- My favourite was the low ropes course because you had to work in partners and had to put trust into the people so you didn’t fall. By Ariyana
- I enjoyed the archery because it was really fun and the challenge was to pop the balloon. Only one person, Alaska, succeeded at popping the balloon. By Allora
- The Eagle Nest Walk was awesome because I got to lead my group through the bush. It was fun to find the yellow markers and go up kangaroo trails. I got to take turn with Scott leading the group. By Nate C
- The bow and arrow was exciting. I was amazing at it because I knew what to do because I did it for my birthday. One person’s bow and arrow got stuck at the top of the roof. Even Mrs Rowe got her arrow stuck in the roof! By Lala
- I liked all the activities we did. It was so fun and exciting to build a hut and go on the Eagle Nest walk. By Layeh
- It was really fun and exciting. I saw lots of animals like foxes, dogs and kangaroos. We went to the patting paddock to pat the camp’s animals but I was too scared. By Obrien
Math Warm Up Games
In math this term we have been doing math games as warm ups. These include:
Net Zero - To play net zero, you get someone to play with you, get a dice and some cards 0-9 and then you each get 5 cards. You have to make zero with your cards when there is not enough cards then you count up your cards and see who has the most cards at the end.

Poison Numbers - To play poison numbers you need cards 0-9 and 2 or more people to play so you start with 6 or 7 cards then you say your poison number(example:24) so you put cards down and whoever makes 24 the person next or near them get all the cards but if they go past the number we have to start again the person that has the most cards wins.
