Principal's Report

It's hard to believe we are already past the half way mark of Term 1. It has been exceptionally busy for both staff and students. The last two weeks has seen the first of our Whole School Assemblies, where our Leadership Team was inducted, and the swimming sports Age Champion and House Cup were presented.
Sail-ability , Health & Wellbeing excursion, La Trobe University visits, a visit from the Full Gospel Assembly to present Scholarships to some of our Indigenous students, and the GMDSSA Swimming Carnival, are just some of the school events that have occurred in the past fortnight.
College Council
As in our previous newsletter, our Annual General Meeting to create the 2019 council will take place on the 20th march. If you are interested in becoming a College Council member, please contact me at school.
Japanese Tour 2019
16 Japanese students and 4 teachers will be visiting in early Term 3. There will however, be a change, as the students will be staying at a hotel rather than in a 'home-stay' situation. We will be asking student ambassadors to be a part of the program, and be hosts across the 4 days of the visit. We also hope to visit Oshu City in November, and I am calling for Expression of Interest. Please email the school email account - mooroopna.sc@edumail.vic.gov.au and put 'Attention Mr Bolton - Japanese tour 2019' in the subject line.
Shepparton Education Plan
There is nothing new at this time. Discussion and planning continues as we move towards the new entity, which comes into being on the 1st January next year. As decisions are made, they will be communicated promptly.
