An evening for young people facing barriers to employment such as anxiety, depression, learning sesnory or physical difficulties:

An upcoming career night at ECHO Employment services for current and past students to explore creative and positive career opportunities, exposure to potential employers and access to apprenticeship/trainee centres

 

Wednesday 31st October 4-6:30pm

Please see attached flyer and pass on to any young people who may be interested,

Maroondah City Council Youth Services will be present alongside other services to discuss support options if required

R.A.D.A.R Awards

R.A.D.A.R. stands for 'Respect and Diversity at Ringwood', so please have a think about any staff members and/or students who you think made a difference to the RSC positive education community during term 3. In keeping with our Character Strengths theme please link your nominations to one of the following 3 strengths. Moderation- Forgiveness : A conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person or group who has harmed you, regardless of whether they actually deserve your forgiveness. Courage – Bravery : the quality or state of having or showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear, or difficulty This strength involves accurately representing your internal states, intentions, and commitments, both publicly and privately.

Student Wellbeing Website Relaunched

The student wellbeing website has been relaunched this term. It includes links to sites with excellent resources to support the health and wellbeing of both parents and students. If you are looking for information about topics from mindfulness to depression to the benefits of gratitude then this is a great place to start. There are also sites with tips for how to support young people through a mental health crisis and fantastic podcasts exploring strategies to help you lead a happier, more meaningful life. Please check it out and become familiar with the wealth of resources available.
