Devotion

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. Psalm 46: 1 - 4

Whilst there have been a number of changes that have affected each of us in a range of ways at the moment, one of the consistent things that have stayed with us are our core beliefs and our belief in ourselves and one other. This is a time where we can turn to what is important - family, friends, community, and faith and also be reminded that God is with us, through both the ups and downs that we experience in this life.

Our school is a really important part of this fabric, and we will continue to support our students to be the best they can be and to work in partnership with all of our families as the key educators working together positively in a child’s life.

We have seen heartwarming acts of support and compassion within our school community as we've looked after one another through the challenges of the past few weeks which reflect God's love and care for us. It is refreshing in talking with students, families, and teachers alike, that the conversation has always been on what everyone can do for others rather than thinking about ourselves. A huge thank you to our whole community for striving to keep an eye out for one another and provide mutual support.

My thanks go to each and every one of our amazing staff team for their efforts this term. At a time where education was again transformed overnight by some of the announcements and requirements around coronavirus, our whole staff team has achieved phenomenal things with having online learning up and running for the students quickly, and in working tirelessly and passionately to continue to refine what we offer on these platforms, and to be in contact with our school families to provide pastoral and wellbeing support, as well ask keeping the school 'ticking over' and looking after children who required care at GGOSH. We are blessed with wonderful students who enjoy their learning whether at school or at home, a great staff team, and an incredibly supportive parent community whom we’re blessed to partner with.

Blessings
