Chaplain's Corner

Hi Everyone,

It is good to see all the smiling faces again.

I also detect some tiredness amongst both students and staff, not just from getting up early once again, but from the fatigue of change.

It is important to prioritise our wellbeing and one important aspect is our MINDSET.

I’d like to focus on the mindset changing attitude of GRATITUDE.

Practise GRATITUDE each day - think of at least one thing that you are grateful for each day.  This could be general such as family, life, food, sleep, clothes, friends, a new day, etc OR more specific such as being grateful for an unexpected call/card/email from a friend, a beautiful flower that you have notice in a garden, the sound of a bird, a friendly smile. etc…

Making this a family exercise around the dinner table will enhance the mindset of both adults and children, giving a new perspective on life and situations.

I have used activities that promote GRATITUDE

in my work with students for situations such as friendship issues, issues with siblings, grief and loss, difficulties with school  work, etc… ,

Practising GRATITUDE can get us through some really difficult days, or at least improve those days.

May you find STRENGTH and JOY in GRATEFULNESS.

TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE!
