5/6 News

The whole term was a very busy time for the 5/6, with lots of rehearsals, a new Unit Of Inquiry (UOI), making stories and even preparing for sports day next term! The 5/6 loved the many things to do in the classroom.
The 5/6 are well and truly getting ‘crack-a-lackin’ into rehearsals. Some of the 5/6s even got to try on their costumes including the zoosters, penguins, lemurs, and more! We are all looking forward to the big night, near the end of term 3. It’s showtime!
For our last UOI, we have been looking at migration stories, traditions and heirlooms. We were going to go into the city to look at the diversity of our community but unfortunately, COVID lockdown struck again! It was a shame but we are going to make the most of our next unit of inquiry, and for that. We are looking at how media arts use a variety of strategies to influence society and how advertisements affect us. Before we start our next unit we have been making picture storybooks of migration about people we know and fictional stories. Everyone has enjoyed the task and had lovely pictures in them.
We are so excited for the sports day and in P/E we have been preparing for sports day. Practising long jump, triple jump, high jump, discus and shotput! Everyone is excited to cheer for their colours and do all the events for their team and win house points on the day.
We must not forget the winter sports. The 5/6s have played soccer, netball and some practice games of footy. Both teams made it to the semi-finals with amazing skill. The snow team should get excited because next term snow sports is on!
Have a good holiday! Thank you for reading.
