Learning and Teaching Update

'We aim to provide a school environment where ‘Every person can flourish and be known’ This means that our teaching program identifies the unique needs of each individual student, and delivers a learning program designed to grow them into the best person that they can be'.

Dear Parents/Caregivers and students

I am in awe of the online learning that is taking place in our school during this lockdown 6.0! It is wonderful to see so many students coming to their Google morning meets to say ‘hello’ to their teachers and friends. I wanted to share a story with all of you about my experience online yesterday.

I was working with a group of year 3/4 students in a Reading Group. I asked the group if they knew where one of the students was as she had not turned up to my Zoom meeting. Promptly, one of them said, ‘Miss, she is on ‘Whereby’ at a lesson with Ms Ly, I will just get on there and ask her to join your lesson!’ A moment later, I had my whole group with me on zoom! I share this story with you as it just reminded me of how children can teach us to be flexible, adaptable and resourceful, all excellent qualities they demonstrate as learners of the 21st century! Our students are navigating not just one, but three online platforms of learning and have responded so well to the transition to online learning in the last few weeks.

Well done students, you are the champions this week and I applaud all of you for trying your best to access any form of learning throughout your day at home!

Warm regards
