Inquiry Workshop

On Thursday 29 July, from 8:20 am -9:20 am Mrs Fellowes, Mrs Corness and Ms Francis will be presenting an Inquiry Workshop for parents in Room 138. The aim of the workshop is to share how an inquiry-based approach looks in our PP-6 classrooms. Inquiry learning recognises the importance of learner voice and choice, and of linking new learning to prior knowledge, experiences and interests of the learner. Please RSVP via the button below.

Technology Extension Projects

This term a select group of Year 1 – 4 students will be working with Mrs Angela Clark on a Monday afternoon on some special Technology projects:

Years 1 - 2 Extension Project: Colourful Creations with Ozobots

Students will explore the colourful coding world of Ozobots. They will participate in partner and individual challenges to become familiar with using the codes. Students will then apply their newfound coding skills, along with mathematical concepts of symmetry and measurement, to create their own colourful coded creation.

Years 3 - 4 Extension Project: Sphero Adventures: Amazeballs!

Students will explore the coding capabilities of our Sphero robots, collaborating with their peers to create an adventure maze for these amazing little spheres to navigate. They will work through the design process, using their maths and engineering skills to plan, create, test and improve their designs.

We are sure the students will enjoy this experience and look forward to offering this opportunity to others in Term 4.

ICAS Assessments

Primary Sports and Andrews Cup Notices

Pre-Prep – Year 1 Primary Games Day

On Wednesday 21 July, our Pre-Prep – Year 1 students participated in Primary Games Day. Albeit very windy, the sun was shining and the smiles and laughter from the students were priceless. It was wonderful to have parents join us to cheer on their child/ren. Thank you to the teachers and supporting staff for their assistance. Special thanks to Mrs Richardson for organising such a wonderful event.

Andrews Cup Swimming

Andrews Cup Swimming training continues every Friday afternoon during Term 3 from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm in the College Pool. This is not a compulsory session but an opportunity for interested Primary swimmers to maintain their fitness during the winter months.

Andrews Cup Athletics

The first of two Metro Meets will be held on Monday 2 August at UQ from 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm. This is a compulsory Meet for all Andrews Cup athletes. The AC team is chosen using the results from the 2 Metro Meets. A detailed communication regarding this Meet will be emailed home next week.
