2017 PERFORMING ARTS SHOWCASE
The entertainment continues:
Next week see Drama and Dance performances.
Performance Success!
Congratulations to all the students who have participated in the 2017 Performing Arts Showcase last week! Every single one of them stepped out of their comfort zones and showed our friends and families what our music program has achieved so far this year. Thank you to all those who attended, your support was greatly appreciated!
Ensemble Showcase
With 8 bands and a sold out audience, the ensemble showcase was a fantastic night for all involved! We’ve all been preparing for the showcase for quite a few months now, and while there were a few minor hiccups, the night was definitely a success! Congratulations to the clarinet trio for your first performance ever!
Vocal Concert 1
The first of our vocal concerts was an awe-inspiring night, setting the bar high for the next one! 25+ acts, including our outstanding Senior Choir, were put together in a casual atmosphere, resulting in a hugely entertaining night!
Contemporary Showcase
The contemporary showcase was a fantastic night! We had 6 bands performing, and all of them showed tremendous courage and talent. Our contemporary bands were exceptional at getting the crowd hyped, proving they aren’t just great musicians, but also great performers.
Vocal Concert 2
Energy was high at the second vocal concert last night. Over 30 acts were brilliantly performed, with each item bringing something different to the stage. We’re very proud of all the vocalists who took a chance and took to the stage!
We can't wait for the rest of the performances this term.

INDIVIDUAL SUCCESS
This week has seen some exciting performances and lifelong memories for many our students.
Julian Wong
On Monday 29th of May, Julian Wong shared the stage with the Daryl McKenzie Jazz Orchestra at Melbourne's prestigious venue, The Apartment in the CBD.
Despite some nerves, playing with 20 of Melbourne's leading musicians, Julian delivered an outstanding performance.

Bethany Hall
A slight correction from last week's newsletter regarding Bethany Hall's exam, as she actually sat her Grade 7 AMEB Violin exam. We're pleased to announce she passed with a Credit. She played an impressive list of music from Haydn, Bartok & Brahms - This is an excellent result for an exam of this level.
NEVR CONCERT 2017
As Sue talks about in the Principal's Report on Tuesday 30th May, 45 Later Years Choir students and 12 Senior Instrumentalists performed as part of the Secondary Choir and the Wind Symphony in the 2017 NEVR concert. The event was held at Hamer Hall and showcased over 1000 students from schools in the North East region of Victoria. It was a very professional and impressive performance and our email has been flooded with notes of praise and encouragement for the students' work.
