RELAY FOR LIFE 23rd/24th March

Relay For Life is a community fundraising challenge for Cancer Council. Teams of friends, families and colleagues raise money in the lead up to an overnight event, where team members take turns walking around a track to signify that cancer never rests, so neither do we.
More than 80,000 Australians took part in Relay For Life last year, and over the past five years, have raised over $108 million to help in the worldwide fight against cancer. With more than 130 Relay For Life events happening across Australia this year, you won't have to travel too far to find one.
But with an estimated 134,000 new cases of cancer expected to be diagnosed in Australia this year, we need every Australian to rally behind Relay For Life to help continue this vital work.
Everyone is welcome at Relay, no matter your age or ability. You can take part however you like by walking, jogging, running, wheeling or even dancing – it’s your Relay For Life! Here’s what else you can expect at Relay:
- Survivors of cancer and their Carers are the heart of every Relay, so each Relay begins with a lap around the track in their honour.
- Teams of Relayers pass a baton as they keep someone on the track at all times, day and night.
- In between laps, experience all the activities you can enjoy such as entertainment from local performers, market stalls, competitions and games for the whole family.
- At sunset, we light up the darkness in memory of those we’ve lost during our candlelight ceremony.
- Inspiring speakers then give us hope for a cancer free future by sharing important updates about the advancements in Cancer Council’s work.
- At the end of the Relay, we hold a closing ceremony that celebrates our incredible achievements and motivates us all to continue the fight against cancer.

Greensborough College is excited to be a part of the 2019 Diamond Valley Relay for Life held at Willinda Park, Beatrix Street, Greensborough.
REGISTRATION DAY FRIDAY 8th MARCH 12.30-1.30pm students can bring in their pre-filled registration forms and money. We will also have extra forms if anyone wants to sign up last minute on the day.

- Saturday 23rd MARCH starting at 12:45pm continuing OVERNIGHT and finishing 10am Sunday 24th March
- You will receive a Purple t-shirt with your registration.
- If you can’t do the overnight part, you may still register and come for a few hours only.

- Bring Completed Registration Form and Entry Fee on the REGISTRATION DAY 8th March – 12:30 to 1:30pm or sign up on the day.
- Youth (U18): $25, Adults: $35, Family (2 adults, 2 children): $80
- Families are welcome to join in.
- Sponsorship forms will be distributed with registration forms – Get started on your fundraising ASAP! Ask a friend, a neighbour or relative to help you support this worthy fundraising cause. Money from individual fundraising will be collected on Tuesday 19th March, 12:45 – 1:20 in APAC10. Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraisers!!

- All sponsorship fundraising for Relay for Life participants, will be collected on Tues 19th March
- If you’d like to donate to this fundraiser, but don’t know anyone who is participating, contact Jenny in ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE on 94333 2666 to organise your donation.
- Information and order forms will soon be distributed for a another exciting Silver Coin Frenzy Fundraiser, to help us reach our goal of $2000. This year all donations will be donated to Relay for Life.
