Junior School

Smooth start to the

School Year

Welcome back to our Year 8 and 9 students and welcome to our new Year 7 students.  With the different starting dates for each of these year levels it made very a very smooth start, especially in relation to meeting students in assemblies and allocating lockers.  The students new to the school have adapted quickly to the school routine and have quickly made new friends.  If there are any issues, we encourage Year 7 and 8 students to speak to their Home Group teachers as the first point of contact.  Year 9 students are encouraged to speak to their classroom teacher or their Coordinators.

Year 7 Camp

The Year 7 camp is being held at the Phillip Island Discovery campsite on Phillip Island on Monday 4th March to Wednesday 6th March.  Students were given information about the camp last week along with a medical information form (please include any dietary requirements on this form as well.  This form must be completed and returned to the General Office by Wednesday 20th February.  The consent form and payment is completed online through Compass is also due on this same date.  For students to go on the camp we must have the medical form and the consent form back on this date as we need to let the camp know of the numbers and dietary requirements.  Our Business Manager can help with payment options if you would like to use this option.

Name and label everything

Please make sure that all books and clothing have names on them.  We regularly get items at the Coordinators Office that do not have names on them and cannot return them unless a student comes looking for it and can identify it as theirs, therefore, we encourage you to make sure that everything has been named.

Identifying School Bags

In a rush by students to collect belongings and leave school for the day, school bags can be wrongly taken home.  This happened several times last year and has happened once already this year so we are suggesting something bright like a key ring or ribbon be attached to the school bag to ensure that this does not happen as it can sometimes be distressing for a student when this happens.
